Cherokee Park [17 Sep 2010|02:13pm]

I know no one ever uses this community anymore, and I think that's a shame. I only moved back to Louisville recently, and I'm looking forward to lots of photography adventures in my favorite city <3

Went for a little hike at Cherokee park yesterday, enjoying the nice weather!

kentuckianaart.org seeks artists and funding [11 Oct 2008|06:07pm]

kentuckianaart.org main mission is to collect as much information about the louisville/southern indiana art world as we can. we collect art based web addresses , reports, reviews and articles that involve the kentuckiana area.

We also believe that the art world that we cover is just as important and just interesting as any other scene in the world and because of this is worthy of the time and effort to document, and discuss.

We are currently seeking donations if any amount through are pay pal account . out paypal address 's are thanielionlee@gmail.com and contact@kentuckianaart.org

All donations will go towards expanding the web sites memory so we can start providing small one page web pages for artists that do not have websites, upgrading the programs we use to lay out the site, hiring a small staff, and buying ads in both web and print magazines.

Any and all donations will be helpful.

from 12/20/07. [22 Dec 2007|09:26pm]

these aren't much, and they are in NO way of any quality, but given the general deadness of this community lately, i figured i'd post them anyway. they were taken by my little sister (she's 10) as i drove her through spaghetti junction towards arthur street, then later passing the ul campus as we were going to okolona.

Louisville Roads: 1965 [26 Sep 2007|05:27pm]

(x-posted from louisville)
I was at a thrift store and found a 1965 Rand McNally United States/Canada/Mexico Road Atlas in immaculate condition, the pages hadn't even yellowed much. It was only $5 so picking it up was a no-brainer.
The page for Kentucky (and Tennessee) features this inset map of Louisville:
Louisville Roads: 1965
Right off the bat you can see how I-64, I-71 and I-264 were incomplete, the K&I Bridge still carried auto traffic, 65 south of the Watterson was a toll road and the sections of 264 that were complete were co-signed with US 60.
Central Kentucky Roads: 1965
A look at the entire region, this map uses a unique method of abbreviating place names.
One day I'll take better shots, the map pages are actually far more vibrant, but I didn't have good lighting.
